Benefits of an EV SSL certificate
An SSL EV (Extended Validation) certificate, besides involving verifications on the domain holder and domain company owner, also includes more advanced checks, ensuring for example, that the application is made by a person authorized to reppresent the organization. With an EV single domain certificate it is possible to verify the single domain, and with SAN types up to 5 FQDN domains can be verified.
Checks on the domain: we verify that the subject requesting the certificate contols the server that responds to the domain in question.
Checks on the organization: we verify that the organization exists and that the subject requesting the certificate is part of the organization
Checks on the signatory: we verify that the subject requesting the certificate, has reppresentative powers within the organization.
* Following policy decisions by the CAB Forum, the maximum validity period for SSL/TLS certificates will be reduced starting 15 March 2026. If you have purchased a 1-year certificate, Actalis will continue to guarantee annual coverage at no additional cost by providing a second certificate, available for activation in your customer area six months after activation.
